From 1 November 2025, the new Aged Care Act came into effect, and with it, the Australian Government introduced a new Statement of Rights for all older Australians receiving aged care.
At Pioneers Lodge, we have always believed that aged care should honour your individuality, your choices, your dignity, and your voice. With the commencement of the new Act, we were proud to reaffirm our commitment to these principles through the introduction of the Statement of Rights
The Statement of Rights set out what you are entitled to expect from your aged care experience, whether you lived in our home or received support in the community. It was designed to ensure you felt respected, safe, listened to, connected, and empowered in the decisions surrounding your care.

At Pioneers Lodge, we have identified five Key Focus Areas that guide how we bring the new Statement of Rights to life. These focus areas ensure every resident can make choices, access fair and safe care, receive clear information, and feel valued as part of a connected, respectful community.

At Pioneers Lodge, your life is still your life and your choices matter.
You decide how you spend your day, what routines feel right for you, and how you want your care delivered. Our role is simply to support you, not take over.
We also understand that living fully sometimes involves taking personal risks. When you choose an activity or hobby that brings you joy, we work with you to make it as safe and meaningful as possible.
You stay in control, and we walk alongside you.

Everyone who lives with us has their own story, culture, and background and we honour that.
Fair access means your care reflects who you are and what matters to you.
You have the right to inclusive, culturally safe, and compassionate care, including when you’re approaching the end of life.
Your values, your traditions, and your wishes guide the way we support you.
No matter your history, beliefs, or needs, your care should feel like it belongs to you, because it does.

Your safety, dignity, and wellbeing come first.
The Statement of Rights makes it clear that every person receiving aged care must be protected from abuse, neglect, and discrimination and we take that responsibility seriously.
High-quality care at Pioneers Lodge means more than meeting standards.
It means being treated with kindness, compassion, and respect every time a team member walks into your room, speaks with you, or supports you.
You should feel safe, comfortable, valued, and genuinely cared for, always.

Your information is personal, and we treat it that way.
You have the right to privacy, to understand your care, and to know how your details are being used.
You can ask to see your records, request explanations, and receive clear information about your care costs and services, without confusion or surprises.
Your privacy is a sign of our respect.
Protecting it is part of how we honour you.

Pioneers Lodge is more than a home, it’s a community.
You bring your own history, culture, language, faith, and traditions, and we support you to continue living them every day.
You have the right to stay connected to the people and activities that matter most, whether that’s family visits, church, community events, cultural celebrations, or simply the rhythms of life that make you feel like yourself.
Your identity doesn’t change when your address does.
We’re here to help you stay grounded in who you are and where you come from.
